African Union Scholarships:

Applications for the African Union Scholarships are available now in 2024. All African students who want to pursue Master’s or PhD degrees in various fields must apply for this program. Mastercard Foundation Scholarships:

It is the largest scholarship program available for African students. The Mastercard Foundation Scholarships aim to prepare talented and diverse young people with a commitment to giving back with their skills and mindsets. 

Mandela Rhodes Scholarship:

The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship is another scholarship program available for African nationals. The scholarship aims to combine financial support with a leadership program that will inspire, challenge, and connect you with young African change-makers. It is a fully funded scholarship that covers:

  • tuition fees, 
  • registration fees, 
  • allowances for study materials, 
  • research, 
  • medical aid, 
  • accommodation and meals, 
  • personal allowance, 
  • economy class travel to and from your home country.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships:

Apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarships 2024 which is established by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. They donate a total of US$210m to support full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants who are outside of the UK. International applicants can pursue their postgraduate degree in any discipline.

Mo Ibrahim Foundation Scholarship:

Apply for the MO Ibrahim Foundation scholarship in 2024. This scholarship supports aspiring African leaders at several prestigious educational institutions. Some of the scholarships awarded are

  • MIF Scholarship at London Business School, 
  • School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS),

Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS):

The government of Japan and the African Development Bank are providing the JADS program to African students. The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship is available for two years postgraduate degree. The scholarship covers a full tuition fee,  health insurance, a monthly living stipend for the duration of the study, air travel, and research support. Applicants can study various fields at the Master level such as 

  • energy, 
  • agriculture, 
  • health, 
  • environmental sustainability,
  •  engineering

WAAW Foundation Scholarship:

Applications for the WAAW Foundation Scholarship are available now. The WAAW (Working to Advance Science and Technology Education for African Women) provides the opportunity for female college students in Africa. They can pursue their studies in STEM-related fields.

Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP):

Apply for the Orange Knowledge Program 2024. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs finances it. The OKP is a fully funded scholarship program available for those who are experts working in urban) development from several developing countries offered by Nuffic. This program covers:

  • full tuition fee, 
  • living allowances, 
  • health insurance, etc.
